We have conducted many wetland delineations in accordance with 404 policy of the Clean Water Act implemented by the US Army Corps of Engineers.  Projects range from small local developments (< 5 acres) in northern Utah to very large planning areas (> 100,000 acres).  Sherman Jensen is certified by the US Army Corps of Engineers to conduct wetland delineations.  Previously described Ecological Classifications also integrate soil, hydrologic, and vegetative parameters that define jurisdictional wetlands.

• Wetland delineation, Don Andrews property.  2004.  Conducted wetland delineation for 44 acres in Logan , Utah .  Conducted for Global Real Estate in Logan , Utah .

• Lower Owens River Project (LORP), delineation, prediction, and assessment of wetland/riparian resources.  2004.  Delineated jurisdictional water/wetlands for 30,476 acres that may be affected by rewatering of the lower Owens River in California .  Also predicted future riparian/wetland vegetation types and  completed hydrogeomorphic (HGM) assessments for both existing and predicted conditions.  Conducted for Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in Bishop, CA.  See Abstract.

• Wetland inventory, Brookside Village, Cache County, Utah.  2001.  Conducted a wetland delineation for 41 acres in Providence.  Conducted for Knighton and Crow Engineering, Logan, UT.

• Wetland vegetation type inventory, Owens Delta, California.  2000.  Conducted a very detailed inventory of wetland vegetation types for about 7,335 acres at the inlet to Owens Lake.  Conducted for CH2MHILL, Los Angeles, CA.

• Wetland vegetation associated with springs in Owens Valley, California.  1999.  Mapped vegetation in the vicinities of over 100 springs in Owens Valley.  Conducted for Ecosystems Sciences, Boise, ID.  

• Wetland delineation, Elder property, Cache County, Utah.  1998.  Conducted a routine delineation for 7.5 acres.  Conducted for Allen Elder, Smithfield, UT.

• Wetland delineation, Navaho Indian Irrigation Project, Potato Processing Plan, San Juan County, New Mexico.  1997. Conducted a level 1, routine delineation for about 1200 acres south of Farmington.  Conducted for Ecosystems Research Institute, Logan, UT.

• Wetland delineation, Stansberry Park Parcel 9, Toole County, Utah.  1997. Conducted wetland delineation for about 250 acres near the east shore of Great Salt Lake.  Conducted for Leucadia, Salt Lake City, UT.

• Wetland Opinion, Wardley Property.  1995.  Identified jurisdictional wetland on a 11 acre parcel in Roy, Utah.  Conducted for Wardley Real Estate, Midvale, UT.

• Wetland mitigation plan, Kanaka, Empire and Boulder hydroelectric project areas, Idaho.  1992.  Prepared mitigation plans to compensate for about 30 acres of wetland.  Conducted for Don Chapman Consultants, Boise, ID

• Wetland mitigation design, Salt Lake City Airport expansion project.  1991.  Designed 250 acres of wetland as mitigation for expansion impacts.  Wetland types included standing water, marsh, saline wet meadow and playa.  Wetlands will be constructed near the east shore of the Great Salt Lake.  Conducted for the Salt Lake City Airport Authority.

• Wetland delineation, Auger Falls hydroelectric project, Snake River Canyon, Idaho.  1991.  Mapped jurisdictional wetlands for a proposed facility covering about 800 acres.  Conducted for Cogeneration Inc; Salt Lake City, UT.

• Wetlands mitigation plan, Auger Falls hydroelectric project, Snake River Canyon, Idaho.  1991. Prepared a design plan for creating 28 acres of wetlands, including deciduous forest, shrub, marsh and emergent habitats.  Conducted for Cogeneration Inc.; Salt Lake City, UT.

• Wetland delineation, Boulder hydroelectric project, Snake River Canyon, Idaho.  1991. Mapped jurisdictional wetlands, prepared 404 application and mitigation plan for a proposed hydroelectric facility.   Con­ducted for Myer Engineering, Boise, ID.

• Inventory of wetlands and projection of the effects of groundwater pumping, Thousand Springs Creek, Nevada.  1989.  Conducted a detailed inventory of wetlands along 25 miles of Thousand Springs Creek and predicted the effects of groundwater pumping proposed with respect to a coal fired power plant.  Conducted for Woodward‑Clyde Consultants

• Wetland delineation for a proposed road corridor, Thousand Springs Creek, Nevada.  1989. Delineated jurisdictional wetlands.  Conducted for Sierra Pacific Power Company.  

• Effects of altered Bear River streamflow upon associated palustrine wetlands.  1984. Predicted the effects of altered stream­flow resulting from a dam upon downstream waterfowl habitats.  Conducted for Utah Division of Water Resources; Salt Lake City, UT.
